This recreational area consists of a sandy beach and grassy zones. It is a location for viewing the midnight sun during the summer months. The park is open to the public for recreational use.

The grounds serve as the venue for the annual Bukta Tromsø Open Air Festival, also known as Buktafestivalen. The space is frequently used for music events and public gatherings.
