Na Turoldu Cave

The cave system is the largest Jurassic limestone cave in the country, stretching to a length of 1,650 meters. It is distinguished by unique corrosive decorations that resemble coral reefs and stone foam rather than traditional stalactites. These formations are accompanied by numerous calcite crystals found throughout the underground spaces.

The site is located within a nature reserve that also encompasses an educational trail and a geological park. Originally discovered in an old limestone quarry, the cave has been explored and developed for public access as a show cave since the mid-20th century.

Ecologically, the cave serves as a significant winter refuge for various bat species. The surrounding environment emphasizes the geological and biological importance of the entire system.
