Pond Mansion

Constructed between 1814 and 1816 by architect Joseph Kornhäusel for Prince Jan I. Josef of Liechtenstein, this neoclassical hunting lodge serves as a salet, or ornamental building. The structure is a protected cultural monument within a UNESCO World Heritage site. Originally intended as a retreat for hunting and fishing trips, the building later housed scientific and ornithological stations.

The villa-like building is situated on the northern slope of the Prostřední rybník pond. It is characterized by its architectural symmetry and its distinct reflection on the water's surface. The property is currently owned and managed by Mendel University in Brno.

Access to the interior is restricted to accommodated guests or those attending social, cultural, or work-related events. The site serves as a venue for university functions and private gatherings, while the surrounding area is frequently utilized by cyclists and those exploring the parkland.
