Bernifal Cave

This privately owned cave is a recognized UNESCO World Heritage site and has been classified as a historic monument since 1904. Originally discovered between 1898 and 1902, the site contains prehistoric paintings and rock engravings belonging to the Magdalenian culture, dating back approximately 12,000 to 14,000 years.

The cave features over 100 individual artworks, including depictions of mammoths, horses, cattle, and deer, alongside characteristic tent-shaped structures and handprints. Access is available to the public and is arranged by appointment.
