Lordi's Square

This central pedestrian square serves as a landmark and venue for local events. Originally opened in 1989, the site was renamed in 2006 to honor the hard rock band Lordi after their victory in the Eurovision Song Contest. The band's lead singer originated from this city.

A key feature of the square is a collection of concrete slabs containing the handprints and signatures of the Lordi band members. The area hosts various cultural activities, such as the Rovaniemi Arctic Circle Ceremony, and is a focal point for events during the summer season.
