Schwarzenberg Tomb

This Neo-Gothic family tomb was constructed between 1874 and 1877 based on the designs of architects Friedrich von Schmidt and Rudolf Vácha. The building is characterized by a unique octagonal design and functions as both a chapel and a burial crypt. It is officially designated as a national cultural monument.

Situated within an English-style park, the monument is the final resting place for 26 members of the Schwarzenberg dynasty, an influential noble family. The interior preserves the remains of these family members and reflects the historical significance and architectural preferences of the lineage during the 19th century.

The site is open to the public, with tours of the burial crypt providing detailed information on the history of the noble family and the specific architectural features of the structure. These tours allow for a close examination of the Neo-Gothic elements and the internal arrangement of the family vault.
