This big-mountain ski field is operated by the NZSKI group and encompasses 449 hectares of terrain across three mountain bowls. Facilities include learner slopes, terrain parks, snowparks, and dedicated freeride zones. The landscape is noted for steep black diamond chutes and extensive off-piste areas.
The site features facilities for winter sports and high-altitude walking. Various seasonal sporting events are held throughout the winter season, and the terrain accommodates all skill levels for skiers and snowboarders.
The mountain range served as a filming location for the Lord of the Rings film trilogy. Specifically, it provided the setting for Dimrill Dale in the film The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.
