War Childhood Museum

Opened on January 28, 2017, this independent, youth-led institution is dedicated exclusively to the experiences of childhood during wartime. The museum focuses on documenting and researching the lives of children who lived through the Bosnian War, aiming to foster understanding and healing through storytelling. In 2018, the institution was recognized with the Council of Europe Museum Prize.

The collection consists of over 3,000 personal objects, including diaries, photographs, and documents. These items are paired with oral history testimonies and personal stories donated by survivors. The permanent exhibition utilizes these artifacts to provide a look at the realities of growing up in a conflict zone.

The museum functions as a center for education and documentation, featuring an interactive environment for all ages. The facility is wheelchair accessible and open to the public.
