Wat Mongkhon Nimit

Established around 1880, this third-class royal monastery features a distinct blend of Sino-Portuguese architecture. The expansive grounds include 11 pagodas and several large chedis. A significant religious artifact preserved on-site is a 700-year-old golden Buddha statue.

The site functions as an active monastery and a school for monks. It also serves as the headquarters for both the Phuket Buddhist Association and the Phuket Old Town Foundation.

Beyond its religious and educational roles, the temple acts as a venue for community cultural events. These include the Niramit Night of Blessings temple fair, which features traditional performances, local food stalls, and outdoor cinema screenings.
