Blansko Unmissables

Blansko serves as the primary entry point to the Moravian Karst, a protected landscape area featuring over 1,100 caves. This selection includes the Kateřinská jeskyně and the extensive Amatérská jeskyně system. Beyond subterranean wonders, the area showcases industrial history at the Klamovka Iron Works and regional heritage within the Renaissance Blansko Chateau. Natural landmarks like the Čertův most rock arch and the Podvrší observation tower provide diverse perspectives on the region's limestone geology and forested terrain.

Kateřinská jeskyně

Famous for the Main Dome, the largest underground hall in the Moravian Karst open to the public. It features unique, thin "bamboo forest" stalagmites and exceptional acoustics frequently used for musical concerts.

Chateau Blansko

Renaissance residence housing the Museum of the Moravian Karst. Exhibits focus on the region's ironworking traditions, artistic cast iron production, and local archaeological finds.

Skalní mlýn

A former water mill serving as the central information hub for the Moravian Karst. It is the departure point for the eco-train to the Punkevní Caves and the cable car to the Macocha Abyss.

The longest and most extensive cavern complex in Czech Republic with its 35km of tunnels.

Čertův most

An 18-meter-high natural limestone rock arch located in the Suchý žleb canyon. This geological formation was created by the collapse of an ancient cave ceiling.

rozhledna Podvrší u Veselice

A 32-meter-tall telecommunication tower with an observation platform. Located 489 meters above sea level, it offers panoramic views of the Moravian Karst, the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands, and the Pálava Hills.

svatá Kateřina

A late Gothic pilgrimage church dating from the 15th century. It is a protected cultural monument known for its architectural preservation in the village of Šebrov-Kateřina.
