Scenic Reservoirs and Lakes

Hainan's inland geography is shaped by significant water conservancy projects and historic lakes. The Songtao Reservoir serves as the island’s largest irrigation source, while the Daguangba Reservoir features a dam nearly 6 kilometers long, one of the most extensive in Asia. Many of these sites, such as Gezhen Reservoir, are vital for hydroelectric power on the Changhua River. Culturally significant bodies like Dongpo Lake reflect the legacy of the Song dynasty poet Su Dongpo, providing localized ecosystems and scenic landscapes.
