Waterfalls & Hot Springs

Western Iceland features a diverse range of geothermal and hydrological sites, from the 198-meter Glymur waterfall to Deildartunguhver, Europe's most powerful hot spring. This list includes the basalt-column-framed Svöðufoss, the historic 13th-century Snorralaug pool in Reykholt, and the unique Hraunfossar, where water emerges directly from the Hallmundarhraun lava field. Visitors can also find naturally carbonated mineral water at Rauðamelsölkelda and the multi-tiered Glanni waterfall on the Norðurá salmon river.
