Castles and Palaces

The Lednice-Valtice Cultural Landscape features a collection of architectural landmarks commissioned by the House of Liechtenstein. This selection includes the Neo-Gothic Lednice Château and several romantic follies integrated into the parkland. Notable structures include the Classicist Rybniční zámeček, the Hraniční zámeček marking the historic Moravian-Austrian border, and Janohrad, an artificial ruin used as a hunting lodge. The complex also contains the monumental Baroque riding hall designed by architect Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach.

Rybniční zámeček

A Classicist hunting lodge built between 1814 and 1816 by architect Joseph Kornhäusel. It stands on the shore of Prostřední pond within the UNESCO-listed cultural landscape.

Hraniční zámeček

A Classicist summer house built in 1827 on the former border between Moravia and Lower Austria. It features a terrace overlooking the Hlohovecký pond.

Janohrad Castle

An artificial Neo-Gothic ruin built between 1801 and 1808. Designed by Joseph Hardtmuth, it served as a hunting lodge and gathering point for the nobility.

Zámecká jízdárna

A monumental Baroque riding hall and stables complex designed by Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach. It is the oldest preserved part of the Lednice chateau grounds.
