Starting at Westminster Abbey — coronation church of English monarchs for a thousand years — the route passes Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, Churchill's secret wartime bunker, Saint James's Park, and Buckingham Palace, before opening onto Trafalgar Square, Covent Garden, and the free treasures of the British Museum. About four kilometres, roughly two hours including stops. The walk starts at Westminster Underground station, steps from Westminster Abbey's west door.
