Nizhny Novgorod’s green spaces range from the 19th-century Aleksandrovskij Sad on the Volga slopes to the modern industrial heritage site at Strelka. The city's parks offer a mix of historical sites, such as the 1896 exhibition grounds in May 1st Park, and contemporary urban regeneration projects at the confluence of the Volga and Oka rivers. Aleksandrovskij sad

The city's first public park, established in the 1830s on the steep banks of the Volga. It features winding paths, the Shell open-air concert stage, and panoramic views of the river and the Chkalov Stairs.

Strelka

Located at the confluence of the Volga and Oka rivers, this park features restored 19th-century openwork metal structures from the All-Russia Exhibition and views of the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral.

Skver Avgustina Betankura

A public square near the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium named after the engineer who designed the city's historic fairgrounds. It serves as a modern pedestrian link toward the Strelka waterfront.
