Oregon Volcanoes

Oregon’s landscape is shaped by the Cascade Volcanic Arc, featuring a diverse range of geological formations from massive stratovolcanoes to ancient cinder cones. This collection includes the remains of Mount Mazama, which collapsed to form Crater Lake, and the rugged peaks of Mount Jefferson and Mount Thielsen. Visitors can explore the Newberry National Volcanic Monument, home to the Newberry Caldera and Lava Butte, or visit the high desert to see the obsidian-rich Glass Buttes and the well-preserved Coffeepot Crater.
