Şanlıurfa’s archaeological landscape spans from the Bronze Age to the Roman and Byzantine eras. This collection features the city’s prominent citadel, known for its massive Corinthian columns, alongside the remains of ancient Edessa’s urban infrastructure and Roman baths. The list also includes Kazane Höyük, a significant settlement mound that offers insight into early Mesopotamian urbanism and the region's long-standing strategic importance as a cultural crossroads.

Şanlıurfa Kalesi

Built during the Osroene period, this citadel features two 17-meter-high Corinthian columns. The current fortifications date largely to Byzantine and Ottoman reconstructions, overlooking the Balıklıgöl complex.

Edessa

The historical remains of the Hellenistic and Roman city, featuring rock-cut tombs and structural ruins that reflect its history as the capital of the Kingdom of Osroene.

Edessa, Nemrud Tahti

Ancient rock-cut structures and monuments traditionally associated with local legends of King Nimrod, located on the hillsides integrated into the city's ancient necropolis and defensive works.

Kazane Höyuk

A large archaeological mound dating to the Bronze Age. Excavations have identified it as a major urban center in Upper Mesopotamia, revealing early trade and settlement patterns.
