Ancient Archaeological Sites
This collection spans millennia of Aegean history, featuring the Bronze Age settlement of Akrotiri on Santorini and the well-preserved Hellenistic and Roman ruins of Kamiros and Ancient Thera. Highlights include the marble Portara on Naxos, the Lindos Acropolis with its Doric Temple of Athena Lindia, and the Roman Odeon in Kos. The list also encompasses early Christian catacombs on Milos and medieval Byzantine fortifications, offering a comprehensive view of the architectural evolution across the Cyclades and Dodecanese islands.
Monastery of Filerimos
Built by the Knights of Saint John in the 14th century on the site of ancient Ialysos, this Gothic-style monastery features a stone-built church and a courtyard. It sits atop Filerimos Hill alongside the ruins of a 3rd-century BC temple dedicated to Athena Polias.
Ancient Agora
Consisting of ruins of pillars and buildings, this place used to be the main town market where people met.
Archaio theatro Melou
A well-preserved Roman-era marble theater overlooking the sea near Tripiti. Originally constructed during the Hellenistic period and later rebuilt by the Romans, it features seven rows of seats and was used for theatrical performances and local assemblies.
