Suwon Essentials

Suwon's identity is defined by the Suwon Hwaseong Fortress, an 18th-century UNESCO World Heritage site featuring nearly six kilometers of stone walls, massive gates like Janganmun, and the Hwaseong Haenggung Palace. Suwonhwaseong

A UNESCO World Heritage site, this 18th-century fortress features 5.7 kilometers of stone walls, command posts, and observation towers built by King Jeongjo to house his father's remains.

The largest temporary palace in Korea, used by Joseon kings during trips to Suwon. It features 600 compartments and served as a secondary residence and administrative center.
