Vermont Libraries

Vermont's public libraries often serve as architectural landmarks, ranging from the marble-clad S.L. Griffith Memorial Library in Danby to the Richardsonian Romanesque Goodrich Memorial Library in Newport. This collection highlights historic institutions like the Brookfield Free Public Library, established in 1791 as the state's oldest continuously operating library. Many of these sites offer essential community services including public Wi-Fi and local archival collections, housed in buildings dating back to the 19th and early 20th centuries.
