Stumbling Stones of Wismar

These memorial stones, known as Stolpersteine, are part of a decentralized monument project by German artist Gunter Demnig. Located throughout Wismar, these small brass plaques are embedded in the pavement in front of the former homes of victims of National Socialism. Each stone commemorates an individual, documenting their name, birth date, and fate. This collection focuses on six specific memorials honoring residents such as the Karseboom family, serving as a poignant reminder of the city's history during the Nazi era.
