The transportation hub is an architectural landmark featuring a striking steel-ribbed roof designed by Santiago Calatrava. The structure symbolizes renewal and remembrance following the 9/11 attacks, incorporating memorial elements within its design. It serves as both a transit nexus and cultural space in Lower Manhattan's Financial District. The hub is fully wheelchair accessible.
