The church was constructed in 1634 following a vow made during the 1630 plague, serving as a symbol of gratitude for the epidemic's end. It is a notable example of Baroque architecture, designed by Cristoforo Malagola. The interior houses important artworks, including a painting by Lodovico Lana and a Sacred Family attributed to Francesco Stringa. The building remains a cultural heritage site and a place of Catholic worship, reflecting the religious and historical context of its time.
