Located on Chambers Street, opposite Greyfriars Kirk, the National Museum of Scotland is housed in a Romanesque Revival building.
The displays here offer a wonderful and educative experience for both adults and children. The museum features a wide variety of exhibits in seven floors and it contains various artefacts from the age of dinosaurs up to nowadays' technology and science.
One of the biggest highlights of the exhibition includes the stuffed body of Dolly the sheep, which was the first cloned mammal.
In order to promote knowledge in a more interactive way, the museum designed some apps, including maps of the highlights and even games that will help you discover what the museum offers. You can get here by train, the nearest station is Edinburgh Waverley.
Admission to the museum is free, except for the special exhibitions.
Donations are welcome.
