Housed in a historical building from the late 16th century, Museum of Edinburgh offers an excellent chance to learn about the city's history. Once also called Huntly House Museum, its exhibition will guide you through Edinburgh's past, revealing its origins and legends.
The rich collection of various historical items includes, for example, a copy of the National Covenant, an artifact from the 17th-century Scottish Presbyterian movement.
The museum's aim is to present history in an interactive way and so, in their Learning Space, kids will have fun exploring historic crafts and replica objects. It also houses a shop where you can buy unique souvenirs with a Scottish theme.
The shop closes at 4:45 pm.
Admission to the museum is free. Donations are welcome.
