This museum introduces its visitors to many aspects of the life within the Jewish community living in Venice. The Venetian Jewish ghetto is one of the oldest ghettos in the world dating back to the 16th century. Fans of Shakespeare will surely remember the character of Shylock from the play Merchant of Venice which partially takes place in the Venetian ghetto.
