Nature and Parks
The High Fens region surrounding Eupen contains some of Belgium's most significant peat bogs and water management systems. This landscape features the Wesertalsperre, the country's largest drinking water reservoir, alongside ancient raised bogs like Brackvenn and Lammersdorfer Venn. These protected wetlands are characterized by specialized flora such as cotton grass and sphagnum moss. The area also encompasses urban green spaces like Josephine-Koch-Park and the Steling, the highest elevation in the High Fens at 658 meters.
