This monument was set up to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Hungary's occupation by the Germans. It depicts Hungary as an angel attacked by an eagle, symbolising Germany.
The monument has been hugely controversial ever since its unveiling. Its critics claim it glosses over Hungary's role in the fate of the Hungarian Jews by putting Hungary solely into the role of a victim.
