Founded in 1252 as a Cistercian monastery, this historic complex was later converted into a chateau after the religious community was dissolved in 1784. The site is currently managed by the Kinsky family and features a unique blend of medieval history and Baroque architecture designed by the architect Jan Blažej Santini-Aichel.
The complex is home to the New Generation Museum (Muzeum nové generace), an award-winning multimedia exposition focusing on the legacy of the Cistercian monks and the Baroque period. The grounds include gardens and are surrounded by scenic walking trails and ponds.
Historical tours and family-friendly workshops are available on-site. The complex is open to the public and serves as a significant cultural venue in the Vysočina region.
