Khoja Ahmed Yasawi Mausoleum

The mausoleum is a monumental structure commissioned in 1389 by Amir Timur (also known as Tamerlane) to honor the 12th-century Sufi poet and mystic Khoja Ahmed Yasawi. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is considered a masterpiece of Timurid architecture, showcasing innovative construction techniques that influenced subsequent building styles across the region.

The site operates as a multifunctional complex comprising a mausoleum, a mosque, and a pilgrimage center. It is a central element of the Azret-Sultan historical and cultural museum-reserve.
