The Palais Royal de Casablanca is an opulent royal residence constructed in the mid-1920s. It serves as a residence for the Moroccan King and his family and is maintained as part of the royal institution. The site is a significant example of traditional Moroccan and royal architecture, notably featuring the historic Mechouar and intricately decorated Royal Palace gates.
The architectural design of the palace was led by architects Louis-Paul Pertuzio and Félix-Joseph Pertuzio. The surrounding grounds include gardens landscaped by Jean-Claude Nicolas Forestier. The complex is situated near the Habbous District.
Access to the palace grounds is limited, with the site only occasionally open to the public. While the interior is often restricted, the exterior gates and the Mechouar remain prominent architectural landmarks.
