Established in 1868, this significant historical building serves as a repository for natural and geological history. The collections include diverse minerals, flora, and fauna, showcasing natural wonders through extensive taxidermy and model animal exhibits.

A prominent feature of the collection is a six-metre tall skeleton of an extinct Giant Sloth. The natural history displays are complemented by exhibits documenting wildlife and geological diversity.

Historical and cultural artifacts are also on display, including the "Pork-knocker" exhibit and a series of miniature ferry boats. The museum also houses the PR1 vehicle, which was used by the former Prime Minister Dr. Ptolemy Reid.
