Standing at 3,011 meters, this massive basaltic shield volcano is the highest point in the country and forms part of the Cameroon volcanic line. The summit provides views extending to Mount Cameroon. The mountain is situated within the protected Pico Basilé National Park, an area noted for its biodiversity and historical significance as a site of early European exploration in the region.
Access to the peak is possible via a road that leads to the summit. Use of this road requires a permit that must be obtained in advance.
