Skalická Morávka National Monument

Established in 2006, this national nature monument covers an area of 101.98 hectares. It protects a naturally wild and meandering section of the Morávka River, which is characterized by extensive gravel bars. These deposits create a unique environment for specialized plant and animal life.

The site is home to rare species such as the Eurasian otter and the river lamprey. The gravel bars specifically host the pygmy grasshopper Tetrix tuerki, while the surrounding area supports various types of horsetail and other diverse flora.
