Originally established as a Gothic fortress in the 14th century, the structure underwent significant transformations throughout its history. It was rebuilt into a Renaissance palace and later received Neo-Gothic and Romantic architectural modifications. The complex is situated directly atop steep sandstone rock formations.
The site currently operates as a hotel, providing accommodation, a restaurant, and a wellness centre. The premises include facilities for conferences, weddings, and social events. Various themed stays and wellness packages are maintained as part of the hotel services.
While much of the interior serves hotel guests, the courtyard and the castle's observation tower are accessible to the public for tours. The castle is a notable landmark characterized by its position on a steep sandstone cliff.
