Completed in 1887, this Neo-Romanesque red brick building was the first church constructed in the city. The interior features a series of notable murals and frescoes painted by Ole Søndergaard between 1928 and 1929. The church is also home to a historic Romanesque baptismal font and two significant pipe organs.

The building is situated adjacent to the I.C. Møllerparken. It represents a key historical landmark from the period of the city's rapid growth near the harbor.
