Chomutov Castle and Town Hall

The complex originated around 1300 as a commandry for the Teutonic Knights. Over several centuries, the site underwent significant transformations, evolving from a religious administrative center into a noble residence before its eventual conversion into the current town hall. It is recognized as a Cultural Heritage Site.

The architecture combines Gothic and Renaissance styles, most notably within the Church of Saint Catherine, which is an early Gothic structure integrated into the complex. The historical buildings represent a transition from a fortified seat to a civic administrative hub.
