It connects the cogwheel rail lines from Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen and functions as the essential transfer point for the Jungfraubahn railway, which travels to the Jungfraujoch. The location is positioned directly below the Eiger north face.
The area is a significant hub for mountain activities, providing access to the Eiger Trail and the Lauberhorn.
