Originally a Romanesque-Gothic structure dating back to approximately 1000 AD, this castle evolved from a medieval fortress into a Renaissance and Baroque residence. It historically served as a seat for queens and has long-standing ties to the Pschowanen, the Přemysliden dynasty, and the Lobkowicz family.
The interior features richly furnished salons, a concert hall, and a Gothic chapel dedicated to Saint Ludmila. The Lobkowicz family art collections are preserved within the castle and are accessible through guided tours.
Extensive wine cellars are situated beneath the site, where wine tastings are conducted. The property is open to the public and includes a castle confectionery as well as scenic views of a river confluence. Facilities are also available for weddings and conferences.
