This site is a major section of the Wallachian Open-Air Museum, the oldest and largest facility of its kind in Central Europe. It preserves original historical buildings and reconstructions that illustrate traditional timber architecture and rural life from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.
A forester's lodge (hájovna) contains exhibits of forestry tools, trophies, and nature-related displays. Guided walks led by a forester are conducted on the grounds. The area focuses on the preservation of cultural heritage, specifically traditional crafts and folklore.
The village setting is one of three main thematic areas in the museum complex, alongside the Wooden Town (Dřevěné městečko) and the Water Mill Valley (Mlýnská dolina). The site is open to the public.
