The Sete Cidades Massif is a stratovolcanic complex characterized by a massive nested caldera containing several lakes and volcanic cones. The Mata do Canário – Sete Cidades (PR04SMI) is a linear hiking trail that traverses the area. This route passes through volcanic formations and historical aqueducts, providing views of the crater, the internal lakes, and the coastline.
