Paphos Gate

Built in 1567, this gate is one of the three historic entrances integrated into the circular Venetian Walls. The defensive system was designed by the engineer Giulio Savorgnano as part of a major fortification project during the 16th century.

The structure is a significant example of Renaissance military architecture. It is recognized as a Cultural Heritage Site and serves as a preserved remnant of the fortifications that once entirely enclosed the urban center.

The gate remains an architectural landmark reflecting 16th-century military design. It serves as a point of access to the historic walled area and is part of the larger defensive circuit.
