Tomb of Shah Rukn-e-Alam

The 14th-century mausoleum serves as the final resting place of the Sufi saint Sheikh Rukn-ud-Din Abul Fateh, also known as Shah Rukn-e-Alam. The structure is recognized as the earliest example of Tughluq architecture and is considered one of the most impressive shrines of its kind. It holds status as a Cultural Heritage Site, reflecting the spiritual and historical importance of its era.

The massive octagonal building stands 35 meters high and is situated within a historic fort area. It is constructed primarily of red brick and is celebrated for its stunning brickwork and intricate blue tile ornamentation. A grand dome crowns the structure, which is a masterpiece of early Indo-Islamic design.

The shrine is open to the public and serves as a major site for spiritual devotion and historical interest. It is the location for the annual urs festival, an event that draws more than 100,000 pilgrims.
