This historic marketplace is one of the largest in Central Asia and has served as a center for trade since ancient times, functioning as a hub along the Great Silk Road. The structure is characterized by a massive turquoise dome designed in a Soviet-modernist style, which houses various trading pavilions.
The market is organized into sections offering a wide array of local goods. These include fresh produce, meats, and a variety of authentic Uzbek spices. Traditional Uzbek bread and other local ingredients are central to the trade here. Beyond food, the bazaar also features local handicrafts and traditional goods.
A significant portion of the marketplace is dedicated to traditional street food. The atmosphere is defined by the vibrant trade of local ingredients and prepared authentic dishes. The site is recognized as a Cultural Heritage Site and remains a primary center for discovering local products and culinary traditions.
