This Empire-style chateau is the sole remaining aristocratic manor-house in the region and represents the only residential seat of the Silesian Duchy within the country. Originally dating back to the Middle Ages, the structure was later rebuilt by the Larisch-Mönnich family. Following extensive restoration, the site opened to the public in 1997.
The museum showcases the lifestyle of the nobility at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries through various tour routes. These include the main chateau building and the Lottyhaus annex. A branch of the National Gallery Prague is housed within the complex, featuring a permanent collection of 19th-century Czech art.
The chateau is part of an architectural complex integrated with the Božena Němcová Park, a 36-hectare landscaped area. The interiors and art exhibitions are accessible through organized tours.
