This historic distillery has been producing agricultural rum since 1765 and is a founding member of the AOC Martinique designation. The facility focuses on the craftsmanship and traditional methods of rum production. A dedicated Musée du Rhum has been open to the public since 1980, showcasing the history and evolution of the industry.

The site features a unique tourist railway known as Le train des plantations. This scenic 2.8 km route travels through sugarcane fields and banana plantations. The journey includes stops at the Musée de la Banane and the historic Habitation LASALLE, providing insight into the agricultural landscape.
