Founded in 1948, this regional gallery is housed in two separate buildings and focuses on art from the 19th century to the present. The collection includes both historical and contemporary works, with a specific emphasis on Czech art. Following a two-year reconstruction, the institution serves as a cultural hub for exhibition, research, and publishing activities.
The gallery features specialized spaces such as the Alternativa gallery, which is dedicated to experimental art projects. In addition to permanent and temporary exhibitions, the facility maintains a specialized library and offers various educational programs. A specific program is also available for families.
