This art museum is the only institution in the Czech Republic dedicated specifically to modern Czech book illustration, drawing, and graphics created after 1918. Its extensive collections comprise approximately 7,000 works of art. Following a merger with the Muzeum Vysočiny, the facility operates as a unified cultural center.
The institution is housed in a historic town house that retains various historical architectural elements in its interior. Among its most notable exhibits is the unique baroque Úhrovský altar. The gallery has been in operation since November 1990 and serves as a primary repository for fine arts in the region.
