Murano

This archipelago consists of a series of islands linked by bridges. Defined by picturesque canals and historic architecture, the area is often referred to as 'little Venice.' It maintains a population of approximately 4,683 residents.

A centuries-old glassmaking tradition defines the cultural identity of the islands. The Museo del Vetro (Glass Museum) is situated in the former residence of the Torcello bishops and houses an extensive collection documenting the millennial history of the craft. Active workshops continue the production of artisanal glass through traditional glassblowing.

Architectural landmarks include the Basilica of Santi Maria e Donato. The islands are open to the public, allowing for the exploration of the historic canals and cultural heritage.
