Inaugurated on August 2, 1974, this futuristic memorial complex commemorates the 1903 Ilinden Uprising against the Ottoman Empire and the short-lived Kruševo Republic. It additionally honors the communist partisans of World War II, serving as a symbol of the struggle for independence.
The structure features a striking white, space-age sculptural dome designed by artists Jovan Grabulovski and Iskra Grabuloska. The interior is decorated with reliefs and vibrant stained-glass windows. As a designated Cultural Heritage Site, the monument is noted for its abstract architectural style and historical importance.
The complex consists of a plateau with sculptures, an amphitheater, and a crypt containing the tomb of revolutionary Nikola Karev. An eternal flame is situated within the core, and the site offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
